What
is Alpha?
ALPHA
is an 11-week "short course" in basic Christianity. It's an
opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian faith or to "bone up"
on the essentials as a refresher course. ALPHA is low-key, friendly and
fun - and more than four million people all over the world have completed the
ALPHA course during the last ten years in churches, homes, schools, universities
and even prisons.
Anyone
will benefit from taking the ALPHA course, and it is especially recommended to
those who are new in their faith, those who’ve been away from church for a
period of time, or those who are
just “checking out” Christianity and the church. All are welcome! The talk
each night is followed by a small group discussion time in which questions can
be asked and objections can raised – no question or subject is out of bounds!
Alpha
Format
The ALPHA course follows the
following format: dinner, welcome, worship, the evening talk on video,
coffee break and small-group discussion to wrap-up.
