Learn more about the Ministries at Lockport Alliance Church
"What are ministries? Why are they important?”
"Ministry" is from the Greek word diakoneo, meaning "to serve" or douleuo, meaning "to serve as a slave." In the Bible, ministry is seen as service to God and to other people in His name. Jesus provided the example for Christian ministry—He came, not to receive service, but to give it (see Matthew 20:28, Mark 10:45, John 13:1-17).
It is out goal at Lockport Alliance church to minister by meeting people's needs with love and humility on Christ's behalf. We serve because that is how our Savior operated. We also recognize the necessity of having many different people serve in many different capacities. No one can do it all by themselves. We as a church body are interdependent of one another. Here is a list of ministries you can be involved in and perhaps serve in as God leads.
