  • Strong start financially to meet a challenging 2010 budget
  • Missions conference January 17 - 24 with Andrew Schaeffer, Jessica Schaeffer, and Becky Mindek, and a strong year of giving to the Great Commission Fund
  • New church treasurer Dennis Myers taking over for Joan Smith; others also beginning new ministry assignments in 2010
  • Vision Sunday emphasis January 31
  • Children's ministries outreach:  the winter months are often a peak time for Kings' Kids on Wednesday nights
  • Impact of winter ALPHA course beginning February 3
  • High-impact men's events:  Guns & Grub February 13; LAC men's retreat March 19-20
  • Spiritual impact of junior high snow camp February 19-21 and senior high Global Impact April 30-May 1
  • Outreach to community leading up to Easter Sunday April 4; 2nd Eggstravaganza outreach March 27
  • Wisdom and direction for how to better take "the whole gospel to the whole world," including our own community; staffing needs at Lockport C.A.R.E.S. homeless shelter

In the garden of Gethsemane, Jesus instructed Peter, James and John to "stay here and keep watch" which literally means, "stay aware."  Jesus was calling His followers to maintain a high level of spiritual alertness and vigilance, and not to miss the moment that was upon them.

 

Jesus is still calling His church to maintain a high level of spiritual alertness and vigilance.  God is at work all around us all the time whether we realize it or not.

  • During the 11:00 service, we have several teams of people who are committed to pray through the service on a rotating basis.  Our goal is to have at least ten teams of 6 of those committed to this vital ministry.  Sign up here.
